I have just got back from a trip to the USA, the first one in fifteen years, its a great country, great people but where has AMERICA gone?
Try to buy anything American, forget it!
Levis-Made in China.
DeWalt tools-Made in China.
Clothing all-Made in China
Souveniers of America-Made in China.
Gibson Guitar products -Made in China.
If I wanted Chinese garbage I would have gone to China.
Why have you let your people, industries and identity be screwed like this?

Political greed had it's nose so far up the butt of big business that it signed a law that gave large tax incentives for businesses to move out of the country. This large "humanitarian effort" to aid poor countries slit our own throats. The people had no say in this as I recall. It was covered in a presidential address many years ago. Even Hershey Chocolate company recently announced it is moving to Mexico. The thing is the businesses moving out of the country may get to keep more of their precious millions, but the quality of their products goes down the tube. In effect Americans are forced into more service oriented jobs with lower pay and computers have taken over everything. Over the years we have gotten fat (literally) as manual jobs decreased. Our kids are suffering since parents have to work 2 & 3 jobs to make ends meet. The list goes on......

Many in the US are concerned about this situation, too. Corporations only care about their bottom line, and this is fine, up to a point. My main concern is that we are losing our manufacturing base, which is a detriment to our national security. If we had not had a strong manufacturing base in WWII, helping to win that war would have been much more difficult. Plus, China, as an emerging world economic power, simply does not have the consumer protection guidelines that more economically advanced countries in the world have. Consequently, our consumers are paying the price for it, not in money, but in the safety of the products produced there.
There are many people in the country now that want to put a limit on this practice by the corporations. Since China seems determined to be the world's manufacturing base, they need to learn that the world will not put up with substandard or downright dangerous products. If they want to be players, they have to learn to play by the rules.

That's kinda true but think about it like this...
Our products are invented here and they are designed here. China has nothing to do with the advertising of the products..they have nothing to do with make the tools to build these various items...No, China "assembles" American products...China isn't assembling Chinese products, they assemble American products...
That's all they do..We say here are the parts...here are the tools to put them together...have 1,000 done by Friday.
The Chinese have never had an original idea in their heads. They steal technology and then make a piss pour copy of it and sell it for a lower price. Other than that they have nothing. So let them make our ashtrays and assemble our bikes and sew our jeans...and assemble our "general tech" products.
If not for that, 900,000,000 chinese would live on less than a dollar a day instead of only 820,000,000 living on less than a $ a day.

We to wonder what happened to the made in Britain signs on our products.
Maybe its got something to do with us exploiting third world countries, educating them and then getting our just deserts.
America like Britain are like a box of smarties every colour except white until you lick them clean.
