This company that does the applications is called Global travels inc. The job is in gambia and it's affiliated with the UK... Thank you.

Don't fall for this fraud. If they want to hire you, they will obtain the work permit for you at their own expense. If they are legitimate and you have to pay for the permit, they will take it out of your pay after you start work. If you have to send money abroad before you are hired, it is a scam. Besides, the amount is very large. Work permits don't cost anything in most cases.

Sounds like a scam to me. Anytime money is asked for up front, there is usually something fishy involved. Also, when I googled Global Travels Inc - I didn't come up with any companies affiliated with the UK or Gambia. So I'm not sure that it exists. Did you interview with them? If not, then that is another sign that it is a scam.

In an African country, and they want you to pay them? Are you really that desperate? How much money do they say you will make? It sounds fishy to me. Even if there is a real company called Global Travels Inc. this could be someone else using their name.

It is a scam.

Never pay someone to work for them, because it is very stupid.
