I am a single Father of 2, my son is 2 yrs old and my daughter is 2 months old as of the 9th of Nov. she loves attention and wants me right in her face when she`s awake!! living alone with the 2 of them I dont always have the time I`d like for both (cleaning and cooking can be a chore if she`s up) is there anything I can use to pacify her during these times? I realise onc she`s 3 and a half months she`ll be able to use her exersaucer...

put her in a bouncy chair/cradle with a toy bar in front of her so she can look at the toys hanging and bat them with her hands - you can also have her by you when you are cooking and cleaning.

if you can, put her on a play mat. the type with the toys hanging overhead and lay musical toys and balls around her. or just lay out some soft blanketing and place her on her tummy with toys in front of her to try to reach. Play some music, soothing or upbeat, depending on hers and your mood!

get an electric baby swing / bouncer and put her in there with some toys tied to it so she can't lose them. Put the swing in whatever room you happen to be in. Or put her in front of the tv - gasp! - 1/2 an hour of the wiggles or Hi5 will not rot her brain and will give you time to get the chores done and then spend quality time with her afterward. Its just the sounds and colours that will attract her attention and give you a chance to get some stuff done.

Or you could invest in a baby sling/carrier/pouch and carry her around with you. I also used to put mine in the pram and push them round the house with me so they could see me. I would hang some toys from the pram roof bit to catch their attention too.

best of luck, it sounds like you have your hands full!

try this

put her in a swing and play some music like

kenny G.

classical music

different rain forest sounds

or any music of your choice

I know this sounds funny but my daughter for some reason loves celin deion . She likes the titanic song "my heart will go on" and I hate it because it sounds depressing to me. but anything to keep her quiet and easy going I will I will do it.
