Hi, Tables are my most favourite thing to make. Here are some prices from where I get my supplies. I don't know what size you are planning on, and this is sold by the Linear Inch. So if you get anything from these folks, make sure of your measurements because it is ,like you said Way out there. This is only a quote of what they have available, I can't list everything. Cherry 53/4" W x 3/4 " thick x 60" length is, $ .59 Linear Inch. The Northern White Oak with the same dimensions would be $ .46 L.I. They also have red oak, Rosewood,Mahogany,Ash,Walnut Maple ,Birch,Cocobolo. This is just to give you an Idea. Lowe's carries Red Oak, Popular, but I don't remember what they charge. The name of this Company is Rockler. They do on line orders if you want some. Byee and have fun!

Valid answers so far; although you didn't state Veneer PLY in your Q.

Birch or Mahogony; the most common Ply venners; could cost upwards of $35 per sheet. I suspect Oak or especially Cherry might run a bit more?

Since you didn't state Veneer ply; and knowing that othe lumber not sold in sheet stock is sold by the linear foot in most cases; I suspect any major/decent supplier could answer your Q; even over the phone.

Solids cost more! plywoods cheaper need finish added like polys etc.. Plywoods like $80 to $120 a sheet of 3/4 inch. solids like 2ft.buy8ft have to be laminated to gether to make surface wide enough..5X8 foot for good table.. you have to plane it too then poly it or stain it so cost is a factor?

a good table could cost you almost as much as bought one?
$300.0 to $400.00 but you'll be able say you made it!
