By definition Unidentifed Flying Objects exist. Just because they were not ID by the witness does not mean that they were imaginary, nor does it infer it to be extra-terrestrial either. Now that being said, taking the term UFO to the modern alien spacecraft definition, there is a high probability that given the number of suns in the universe, that millions of galaxies would have planets that can support life and that at least hundreds or thousands of those worlds would have developed life similar to ours. Given the expansion of space, some of these worlds would be older than ours, and presumably developed life sooner, which may mean their civilizations are more advanced. Unfortunately, our grasp of physics theorum, make it 'unlikely' that any life form could wistand the time or stress of travelling these distances (stress meaning acceleration problems)

Since many of these sitings are seen from a distance; I would conclude that they are perceived as being real to someone, regardless of the interpretations of their appearance and origin. By comparison: the Roswell crash site and debris having been reportedly observed up close by witnesses and than later recanted and alternately described as only a few foil kites from a weather balloon. That suggests a cover up and has since tarnished the governments credibility in this area. There are skeptics who have also allegedly created fake photos and videos of UFO sitings, which seems to be an attempt at disinformation to nullify all others this way as well. It would seem to be that it would take several hundred up close and personal sitings of: "Mother Ships" to convince most people that these ships are real, but not necessarily their occupants and origin.

UFOs are not flying saucers. They are unidentified flying objects. Anything that is not readily identifiable as an aircraft, is labeled a UFO.

of course!
do you know how massive the universe is? it's got millions of galaxies in it and in one of those millions of galaxies is our Star. in our galaxy there are thousand of stars many that are not Suns but planets so how can we be so self-centered as to think we are the only planet with life on it out of the millions and trillions of galaxies in the universe?

I've never seen one but I hope I might.:) Er maybe not. Unless it landed in my back yard then I'd always wonder if I *really* saw it.

Yep.

Why would someone make up that they had seen one just so that they could be abused and derided by the media, their friends, and family?
