I believe in spirits and I have frequent spiritual encounters. I have two guardians that protect me from the malicious and evil energies that try to attack me. A few times they have been unable to prevent the nasty ones getting to me which resulted in some of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. I work on an “If I don’t mess with it, it will only mess with me when it feels like it” basis – meaning that I would never use a Ouija board or seek a spirits attention but I can’t stop them from visiting me when they want to. They come with varying strengths and there is no way I would willingly summon one into my house because it would be like standing on a hill in a thunderstorm in a suit of armour shouting to the heavens “All gods are b*st*rds”. In other words incredibly stupid. I had a very bad experience with them once and it has made me very wary of them. Please contact me if you are interested in my experiences. I don’t claim to be a medium or spiritualist of any kind. If anything I would say I’m an Atheist. It just goes to show – it doesn’t matter if you believe in them or not – they still exist.

Could be...science hasn't proven it yet, but that's because there hasn't been real funded research done on the subject. To science commitiees, the subject of ghosts and paranormal activity is "too wierd" like UFO's.
I would say do some research and find the haunted places near your area espeically the hotels, go and see if you stay at the hotel for a few nights then make your own conclusions.
There are other planes of exisitance and there are documented cases of real EVP - electronic voice phenomenon...
Read - Life After Death by Deepak Chopra and then make a decision for yourself on whether or not you believe they are for real. See link for book below.
With anything...the world is what you believe it is and that's all that matters.
It's definitely an interesting topic.

No, they do not exist. People will tell you otherwsie, but face the facts:
-Science has never observed any ghosts or paranomral pheomena you couldn't explain with something else.
-They violate every known physcial law.
-Science has also never fond any other "planes" of exitence, or supernatural energy, or any of this other crap.
-Have you noticed that many people claim that only certain people can see them? Apart from the fact that these people have no detectable traits to give them this ability, it makes very useful means of avoiding having to explain the fact that you can't see them.
If I told you that santa claus was real, you would think I am a bit of an idiot. But Santa Claus is no more scientifically valid than ghosts. So why do people believe in htem?

Yes. When a person dies their awareness leaves the body and in some cases becomes stuck on this world but on a different plane. Eventually they leave and join the dark sea of awarness (infinity) only to be stripped of their memories and recycled into another infant at the time of birth.

Wow. Blip has a very interesting explanation. I sure hope that's true, since that would mean never truly dying =] the idea of dying scares me, so I believe in ghosts. I've never seen one though.. But I think if you believe in God, then most likely you'd believe in ghosts.

Various people have put up ideas of ghost sighting but i don't really believe them unless i see a photo with one.

I believe in ghosts but not everyone shares my opinion.

Some gifted people can see them. They told me that if you pretend that you can't see them, they will come near you and say "I know you can see me...".
It is best not to mess around with them no matter they are real or not.

one day, i woke up at midnight and found 'someone' laying beside me, with bloodshot eyes!! no kidding... i do believe in ghosts because i had encountered one. they are real. but they couldn't harm you because they're actually weak. their only weapon is the ugliness.
