I will share my "philosophy" here.

If given a choice to be happy or unhappy ...I belvie that all will choose to be happy.
Our feelings are our own. We are in control of our actions. Hence what we decide to do ... is totally in our control.
So the decision to be happy or unhappy is all in our control.

Easy to say, but very dificult to practice ....
But the more you practice it ...the better you will be at controlling your anger and hence stay happy.

Let me site an example ... have you ever felt so angry when some reckless driver cuts into you path ... and you get so upset and incensed that you chase up to him and wave your hand and express your anger at the otehr driver .... well it has happened to me many times before but so much less now.

Yes it is totaly natural to respond immediately with "fright" having to make avoid the colision ... and the next natural instinct to be angry as a response to the "threat" ... but I calm myself down and tell myself ... is ti worthwhile to keep teh anger and then start chasgn the otehr guy ... gettign so worked up adn upset about it ... well in truth it is not worthit ... so I tell myself that it is nto worhtit ... adn begin to let go of the anger ... it is difficutl at first, but it gets easier and easier.

Well you may find yourself in such a situation siilar in nature.

I also do get frustrated in some otehr circumstances when I am nto able to acheive something ... I get upset and hence unhappy... an exmaple is why is my son doing so badly at school. It stresses me to no end .... then I realised that the probem was nto with my son, but with ME ...being able to accept that he is nto cut out for academic work ... however after ralising it ... it was another thing to truly accept it .... gald to say that I have overcome it ...a dn my son is doing fine now.

Hope the sharing here is of some use. Cheers
