Strangely this is not the opposite of the question you previously asked. How: we should do it wholeherateddly. This is part of the nature of being human. It should not, however be obsessional, more an action. And disliking is not hatting, for which I would advise mental action (thinking hard on it).
Why? We dislike something that is associated with hurting us. Sometimes the logic is wrong, but Psychology research throws us some examples where we have a strong aversion automatically, (e.g. the Garcia effect) , and we wholeheartedly cannot eat food that our bodies associate with having been ill, even when that was not the likely cause (we can figure out) .
So if you find it hard to really dislike something fully that you don't like, you can combine it will things that really revolt you, that make you literally or perhaps even just figuratively sick, and you will soon be more wholehearted.

It generally occurs when something we are otherwise neutral to becomes antagonistic to our own goals and desires.
