First of all, you have to look at your recruitment strategy - why are you hiring women who are not clever enough to do the job - are you concentrating on areas a little lower down the body than the brain? Women can look very sexy during interviews - they dress to impress - but are you too easily impressed?
Secondly, the "how do I" bit of the question is a bit mystifying: do you mean how do you deal with it personally, or how do you manage such situations? That can depend on the circumstances - if you wish to manage the situation, you may want to sent some people on courses if it is specific skills that they lack - look at the type of task that is being done - there are some tasks that men are inherently better at than women and vice versa, but there are few tasks that neither can do without additional help and training. You don't say what the actual job is, so it is a bit mystifying.
And lastly - I suggest that if you have gotten yourself in a situation where you have hired poorer grade females, then you deal with the situation with some tact and diplomacy - look for lessons that you can learn for the future as well as doing your best to find ways that the staff can all do the job to the best of their ability.

i am not sure if you are just trying to be provocative or what ?
surely the company you work for specified the terms under which someone would be hired or not, so anyone hired within your company has the 'intelligence' to do the job
it all comes down to how you define intelligence, men and women are different and are superior to the other sex in some issues - for example, women are better at multi-tasking than men - scientific fact because of the way the female brain operates - i dont really understand, but i dont beleive that 'the' females are less intelligent than men - your question insinuates that you are talking about all female staff ?

Basically you should know that the sample (namely girls in your office, your colleagues) that made you think that females are less intelligent is unrepresentative meaning you are "over-generalizing"-- there is this possibility that you haven't been to places where it is clear that gender is irrelevant to the level of their IQ like UP for instance... Just one sample that shows the opposite of your claim -- concludes that your conclusion is weak -- very inconclusive
And besides mentioning that the source of the claim is a manager does nothing to strengthen or prove such claim as a fact -- in other words you have taken an OPINION as a FACT...

Give them promotions and pay raises. This will show that you are politically correct and not a sexist. The company can then pass on the additional cost of these incompetent women to the public. I for one would be happy to pay more money for a substandard product or service. See, if we all work together we can help these poor women and cheat the public at the same time.

I'm curious as to what those studies are. It's not possible to "deal with the fact that female staff are less than clever." After all, it is not a fact, it's a personal opinion you have every right to have, in the same way we have every right to judge you as sexist.

Really funny how all these women got so pissed off at this question. It's one of three things i guess: 1) The question is as stupid as it sounds and this man is sexist, and i dont think that we should be giving him any of our time. 2) He is winding you up, and this must be making his day. 3) He just wrote the question in an unclear/uncomplete way.
So if it is the latter could the person who sent the question please clarify it, if its one of the first two then people should just ignore it.

Actually that is a sexist remark which I hope you come to regret if you say it to the wrong person. It always amazes me how jerks like you can be put in a position of authority. No people skills. All mouth in a suit.

As a manager, you should have inherent and trained skills that take you up and above the type of thinking that you have just expressed. Sadly, you clearly don't. As a manager, you deal with people appropriately and utilise whatever levels of skills they possess without casting aspersions on their ability. I seriously suggest that you talk to your own manager and ask for his opinion on your apparently benign level of thinking.
