On what turned out to be the last day of my mother's life, she had an amazing recovery from the confusion and depression she had been consumed by for months prior. Also, the entire family showed up at her nursing home on that afternoon. It was totally unplanned, but it turned into a party and the manager gave us a private dining room to have a little family gathering and lunch. My mother was so happy. I hadn't seen her laugh in so long. She also knew everyone, and had something to say to all. The next morning she just didn't wake up.

It would be impossible for me to narrow my answer down to one memory. I will say the conception, pregnancy and birth of all three of my children are deeply embedded in my memory. I can recall the exact date in which each of my children were conceived. Those are the memories I cherish most. All of my fondest memories involve my children.

This will sound crazy, but when I was 8yrs old I can remember being at my grandparents farm during the springtime. The field out back was covered in jasmine and the smell was wonderful. I was chasing butterflies and grasshoppers. To this day, when I smell jasmine, it reminds me of then.
