Nah! It's usually to thank/reward the person for a nice question! Nice could mean anything I like like intelligent, funny, simple, honest, childish, etc!!!

This may sound funny, but before I read everybody else's answers, I thought when you said my "stars" you meant my Astrology chart. If that is what you meant, then the answer is no, because I don't care enough about getting best answer to put that much energy into it.

If you meant starring questions, like everyone else thought, then the answer is still no, because as I said above, getting best answer is not all that important to me. What matters to me is that I know I answered as truthfully and accurately as possible and if the person picks it as best answer then that's cool too.

The main thing I use stars for is to bring certain questions to the attention of my contacts who may be interested in it. I never even thought to use stars as a way to suck up to the question asker. Do you do that yourself, or have you just noticed other people appearing to do that?

Nu-uh!

I sometimes (not often) give a star even when I haven't answered, which usually happens when a poll question is actually entertaining or interesting but over a dozen people have zeroed in and given their opinions in under 30seconds!

I like to star a question if it's funny, interesting or thoughtful. I feel like I'm giving the a friendly thumbs up of encouragement to that person.

But, good idea!

Nope, in fact (and even for this question) I'll read it, answer it, then never come back to it unless I'm showing someone the question (never) or unless I get picked as best answer, then I'll read the question again, my answer, the comment, then if I find it interesting I'll star it.

No, I use them to bookmark questions about Scientology for which I've been awarded Best Answer. Oh, and for questions I find really funny or intriguing.

Hey, it's true.

Will it function in the way you've suggested if I give your question a star? *wink wink nudge nudge*
