My friend said something about rebuilding the fuel intake....but I'm not sure.
I'm willing to spend money, but I want to make sure that the money I spend is well worth it.

add fuel injection cleaner into ur gas occasionally

take ur time when accelerating

keep it under 60, gas mileage goes down when travelling over 60mph

There are simple things that you can do to improve gas mileage, a bit:

Check and repair any oil leaks

change your motor oil every 5000km, that should keep the engine properly lubricated at all times, less friction on the moving parts and in the end more efficient in gas consumption

keep your tires properly inflated

check and change the air filter every time you change the oil, or more often if you use your car in very dusty environment. Cleaner air ensures better combustion of the fuel

Cut down on the loads that your car has to carry. Clean the trunk and only keep those items that are absolutely necessary in it.

yes fuel intake will help, but be careful when you customize the engine by installing some gadgets.

You can also do the traditional way of saving gas, Good judgment on speed is required. If you are diving MT or manual transmission when you gain enough speed switch gear into manual, this will help save the gas because you are in motion without stepping on the gas.

Do the math first before putting any money into the car....OR buying a new car to save money on gas. Those people crack me up the most. Anyway, I'd just recommend the simple things as making sure your tires are inflated properly and making sure the air filter is clean. Also, speeding up slower and less brake and go help too.

Your driving habits make the biggest difference, then tire pressure, tune up, do not carry junk in the trunk.
The only products I have seen that do back up their claims are those wire mesh air filters and air intakes tubes and synthetic oil.
Beware that the air intake tube will also suck water in the rainy season unless you buy the special sock.

oh heck i'm no mechanic but make sure your air filter is clean (get a new one), run a tank of premium thru it now and then, change your oil on time every time, drive 55 mph on the highway and not 75 is a proven method of improving gas mileage (25%), maintain the correct tire pressure, and the simple trick of keeping your window closed

Always have at least 1/4 tank of gas; fill up when it is cold outside (gas expands in heat, so you get less gas and more air); fill up using the slowest setting (again, the more air used to pump gas harder means more air and less gas in your tank for the same price); never pump when a gas truck is at the station (b/c filling the tanks stirs up residue increasing the liklihood of you getting junk in your tank). good luck!!

learn how to look forward andcontinual easily. shop a sturdy distance between you and the vehicle(s) in simple terms before you. this form you are able to stay at greater of a persevering with velocity and stay away from utilising the brakes and then accelerating. remember that an accelerating vehicle continuously makes use of greater gasoline than one traveling at a persevering with velocity. Get off the gasoline faster and coast greater. occasion - way forward you spot vehicles stopped at a pink gentle. Get off the gasoline and enable your vehicle coast till the vehicles forward clean out. stay away from the habit of using very very nearly suited as much as the vehicles forward, then combating, and then accelerating returned.

If you're going to spend over a thousand dollars worth of improvement....buy a scooter instead.

don't travel over 40 mph... take surface streets rather than the freeway. that definitely helps gas mileage.
or buy one of those hybrid cars.
