I had belly fat to begin with, and now Im 22 weeks along.
My stomach sticks out more, but I can still feel the fat in front of it, and its not hard.. I can feel the hardness underneath.

This is my first, do you think my belly will ever get hard? I weigh less now than I did at the beginning of my pregnancy

It will start to feel a little firmer as your uterus grows and pushes up against the fat and muscle in your abdomen. However, with some fat to begin with, you might always feel a little "soft" but that's perfectly normal.

It's ok that you weigh a little less. A lot of women lose weight in the first trimester and it takes a while (well into the 2nd) to gain it back. I lost 10 pounds in the first four months and then only 21 pounds after that with my first baby.

I am 27 weeks and still have a little bit of a "fat pooch" over my uterus... I can feel it hard underneath. I have heard others... with and without the extra padding (fat) say that they didn't get a hard belly until like 7 or 8 months.... the answers varied so I guess it is different for everyone.
I'll try and track down the question I read about this earlier and post the link for you

This isn't it but it's similar

You'll eventually get that "hard" belly you're looking for. It sucks having a pre pregnancy belly because everything seems to happen alot slower for us. I didn't notice my belly starting to get nice and firm until around 28 weeks or later. Now that I'm 37 weeks it's as hard as a rock. If you're like me, you're not really going to experience that pregnant look for awhile. And even then, it depends on what you're wearing. But it doesn't bother me. My little boy is a miracle regardless of what I may or may not look like. Good luck and congrats=)

It differs with everyone, but I think by the end of your pregnancy you're stomach will be hard.

It may or it may not. My stomach never got hard and my son was born healthy. I only gained 11 pounds the entire time due to throwing up all the time.

As long as the doctor says you are fine then don't worry. I didn't.
