Yes witchcraft and wizardry exist. Witchcraft is simply magic practiced by witches and wizardry is magic practiced by wizards. Wicca has nothing to do with it, as it is a spirituality and has no bearing on magic. Witchcraft in truth is no different to wizardry as they are both magic and it is merely a case of being gender specific words. So, "craft" & "ry" mean skill or art so the skill of witches and wizards is magic. Whereas witch only refers to females, wizard can refer to males as well as males and females collectively as wizard is synonymous with magician.

A magician is the most generic term for a magical person and there are many types of magician; wizard, witch, sorcerer, sorceress, enchanter, enchantress, hag, warlock etc. to name but a few. There is only magic, so there is no such thing as "stage" magic or magic "tricks." That is not magic as it is trickery and fake, some non magical people believe it to be magic as it appears to have miraculous results when in truth it is not what it seems. Magic is not like that.

Magic however is NOT a religion. Only some wizards are religious though, but one cannot speak for all on religious matters. Also, spells are part of magic however are NOT prayers at all. Prayers are religious, spells are magical. Magic and religion do not go hand in hand.

A prayer is asking Gods to intervene in your life, personally communicating with Gods regarding things you cannot achieve yourself. A prayer can be for help, guidance, protection, intercession, thanks etc. However the point is that a prayer is relying on the power of Gods to affect and make changes in your life.

A spell is a set of words, incantation or formula with magical potency. A spell is using the magical power possessed within the wizard or witch to bring about the change or desired effect. Magic comes from within so there is no need to appeal to Gods in order to practice magic; cast spells.

Keltasia; witch is not gender neutral, it is gender specific. I get my information from fellow wizards and witches with decades of magical experience. There is much misinformation one of which is that witch is a general term. Etymology reveals that there has always been gender specific words for magicians. Wicca was the old English for wizard, whilst wicce was the old English for witch. Only when wizard, coming from the root "wys" meaning "wise" was introduced it was used to refer to males and females. Wicce then became wicche then witch however was always used to refer to women only wicca fell into dissuse and wizard took it's place to refer to males specifically and magicians in general.

It matters not that some do not use the term, it is still in use and magical people use it. The magical community is very vast however not all people are brought up surrounded by other wizards and witches. Not all come from magical families.

Yes witchcraft and wizardry exist. They are both magic. As already explained brilliantly by Abby Hansen they are just terms referring to witches and wizards practice of magic. I myself have over forty years of magical experience. Witch does refer to a female, wizard however can refer to males and both genders collectively. Etymology aside, although this is important, witch referring to both genders is a Wiccan idea which conflicts with truth. This is a recent idea and cannot overshadow centuries of magic. Wizard is a magical term. Wizards do not call themselves this because they do not wish to be called witches. They do so, depending on their gender,
because they are male or female as it is also a generic term.

A warlock is a type of wizard. The term has many meanings and for one to use the term does not indicate misinformation. Only those that do not know much of magic or non magical people who be confused by this term. A warlock can be an oath breaker, however the word derives for Gaelic for wizard. The word has negative connotations hence "oath breaker" as well as having a positive association. A warlock is also an esteemed wizard and a title for such wizards.

All wizards are not pagan. This a HUGE generalization which is NOT representative. Paganism has nothing to do with it. Whether a wizard is pagan is up to the individual and magic has no specific link to religion. Magic is not a religion. I don't see why a magical question should even involve religion, of any kind. Magic comes from within and those born with magical ability practice it. However not everyone has this ability. Religion is different.

There is much misinformation regarding the two. Again, some people do not seem to realise that the two are not one and the same. However some Wiccans are presented with the two as a package so do not know where magic ends and religion begins. Spells are NOT prayers. One does not invoke when performing a spell as one is using their own magic within them to cast the spell. Invocation is asking an outside force or Deity to intervene which of course is religious not magical.

yes
Witchcraft(Black Magic) will attract to you a very bad Karma the next life. Witchcraft is earnest punished than suicide. It is against the Holy Spirit.

Magic(that can be White or Black, depending on what purpose you have, what instruments you use and how you make the prayer) is the manipulation of energies in nature.

Black Magic: Voodoo, Witchcraft, curses, Sorcery,....
White Magic: Shamanism, Teurgy, ...

White Magic uses: Normal cross, sanctified instruments, candle put in a normal position when lit, praying to Holy Spirit or Masters of Medicine, normal pentagram, etc.

Black Magic uses: all of the above but INVERTED.

Inverted Pentagram:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/Inverted_Pentagram_circumscribed.svg/2000px-Inverted_Pentagram_circumscribed.svg.png

Inverted cross: http://i1.cpcache.com/product_zoom/264652497/inverted_cross_dog_tshirt.jpg?height=250&width=250&padToSquare=true

Inverted candle:

Do not try something even if someone tells you it's white magic what he wants to teach you, because he might use black magic and trick you, it's risky. I am in an esoteric school and gained some experience that is why I know now what is good or bad.

I thought I would pop in my 2 cents. "Witch" does not refer to only females. Those who call themselves warlocks are poorly educated and have no idea what they're talking about. I find the same thing true about wizards. I'm not saying that there aren't wizards out there, but I think those that might call themselves "wizard" just doesn't want to be called "witch" as they may think it refers to only females. A male witch is called a witch.
Anyway, spells and magic and all that good stuff do exist, but it's not as how it's depicted in movies. There's no special effects, though the lights might get affected if you're playing with the energy. Spells are incredibly similar to prayers. I do energy work, and that's no different than either of them. They often use it to influence events in their life. Health, happiness, good luck, strength, courage, etc.
I will admit I have a small peeve though. Every time witchcraft gets brought up, people automatically equate it with wicca. Wicca is not the only branch of paganism. All witches are pagans, but not all pagans are wiccan. :) I hope that makes sense. I'm not even a witch, though I could often be considered one, and sometimes it gets to me. lol Ah, well. Happy thoughts. :)

Yes. People have been practicing witchcraft and sorcery, magick, etc. since the beginning of time. Spellcasting and magickal ritual were often mixed up with what went for science (such as medical science, cosmology, astronomy, and other types of sciences) up until very recently, and many religious rites, customs, and ideas can be interpreted as magickal although religions have traditionally drawn a strong distinction between what they do what other "marginalized" groups believe and do--labeling the other as magickal and therefore suspect.

Some people think that witchcraft (spellcasting) and magick (wizardy, sorcery, magianism--all words that mean the exact same thing) have to do with supernaturally controlling circumstance. Others, like myself, regard it as a way to transform one's own consciousness to become and perfectly and potently volitional, efficient, and conscious.

Yes. I have seen real spell book. But real witches dont have moles, green hair, and ride broomsticks, its much more complicated than that lol...its kinda like voo-doo...They do REAL spells that work. Witchcraft is kinda like a religion. Witchcraft is not a joke, so dont play around with it! A spell book is very dangerous!

I don't know where Abby gets her information from but the word "witch" is gender neutral. I have only heard of 1 person refer to himself as a wizard in over 10 years.

Yes, witchcraft absolutely does exist. It is not evil. It is not the work of Satan as witches tend to not even believe in Satan... a purely Christian entity. Witches revere nature and others. We do not try to convert others to our religion (which may be any one of many pagan religions, although there are some Christian witches). We do spellwork which is a form of prayer. Prayer is asking your diety for something to happen or not happen. Spellwork is a form of calling upon a diety or dieties (sometimes) and manipulating energy trying to encourage something to happen or not happen.
