They should just work provided you can fit them in although some RAM modules don't seem to like some motherboards.

If the place you buy them from has a good returns policy then if something doesn't work you can just bring it back to them and swap them for another brand.

It should work fine provided that it has the same specs. However its recommended that both RAMs should have the same size. Example: A pair of 1GB Modules or RAM. Usually DDR2 RAMs work in dual channel mode. But for that to work we have to place the RAM in a specific order. There are 4 slots. Insert the 1st module to the first slot, the second one to the third slot. Then, it should work fine. I hope it solves your probs

Assuming you have a prominent motherboard, then it probable is provided with twin channel, meaning that 2 would be examine mutually rather of seperately and so there's no distinction in bandwidth. except you have an AMD Phenom II processor. if so, then 2 seperate 1gig sticks is speedier through fact each and every middle of the CPU has this is very own memory controller. as a manner to take advanatge of this advance of a double bandwidth, you're able to desire to DISABLE the "twin channel" and enebale from the CMOS settings what's usual as "unganged mode".
