He is averaging 4.3 yards per touch this year. thats running and catching. As a life long Saints fan, i dont see how he can still be used as a decoy if he cant produce anything when he does have the ball.

No Reggie Bush isn't a bust..he's still learing how to play in the NFL..give him sometime..He needs to go to a better team
then he will get better..Reggie does have skills..

He is still very talented and capable of doing more...unfortunately he doesn't get the advantage of a spread offsense like in SC. While he was there play after play was designed to isolate him with a defender or to produce a gap for him to run through.

But playing advocate to your bust theory...it is evident that the NFL has lineman that are alot faster and smarter then what he faced in college. I remember last year when Urlacher was running stride for stride with Bush...that would never have been possible in college. Also, unlike college, the Pro-Level has more indepth player scouting and consistency as players face each other year in year out.

That being said...he hasn't shown his full abilities - yet. Likely it will be with another coach or another team that exploits his strengths better.

Well, considering Duece McAllister is out, he isn't used as a decoy now. The Saints offensive line isn't good anyway, so it's hard to produce yardage. I think the hype was that he could benefit any team with his running ability no matter how bad the offensive line was. Not true. Every back needs a good line. Look at LT. His line isn't doing well this year, therefore, he isn't producing big numbers.

as Skip Bayless once said he's a glorified return specialist. he's not an everydown back. the way they used him last year is more suited for bush. screens, sweeps, and reverses are his thing.

people should have expected this when he was in college having to split time with LenDale White.

he's not the biggest bust thats for sure. give him some credit he got the saints out of the gutter

it seems to me that except for a few, and i mean very few backs, across the board running back's averages are down this year. bush had the ideal situation of being the shock back after deuce had wore down the defense a little. now that deuce is lost, and probably won't regain all his effectiveness, its being shown bush for what he is, a third down back and special teamer. even with that, i think its too early to say he's a bust. i was one of only a few who thought houston made the right decision 2 years ago when they passed on him though.

Its too early to call him a bust...Reggie is a great player and only in his second year, give the guy a little more time.

Running backs need to be in the right system to flourish too (look at Edgerrin James). I'm confident that we haven't even come close to seeing the best of RB.

He is a bust as a #2 pick. He would be okay as a late 2nd round or early 3rd round pick. Think Kevin Faulk. (Although I think Faulk is actually a bit better).

without deuce to run up the middle they just stick a spy on him the whole game and is speed to the outside becomes useless.

He is a bigger bust than my mother in law's...and she is HUGE with boobs that go past her belly button.

And he did not have the integrity to pay off the guy who kept him and his family wealthy while he was in school..

Yeah, 3 mil is a lot of money for most of us, but to Reggie it is probably one of his many advertising contracts. And he was not willing to give that up, in order to save is Alma mater the shame and penalties involved with it being found out that he was being paid...can you say, "lost all respect for him"?
