To apply a screen saver password on Windows XP, first click anywhere on your desktop and select properties. Then click on the screen saver tab on the top. Select your screen saver from the drop down and make sure a check is marked password protect.

Right click on a blank spot on your desktop.
Choose "Properties"
Then go to the "Screen Saver" tab in the window. (Its at the top.)

If you have passwords enabled on your account you can check the box labeled "On resume, show startup screen"
If not, then the box will say "On resume, password protect"
Either way, check that box.

If you don't have a password set up it will prompt you to create one.

Hope this helps!
