If you've read the poems, it's pretty evident what the mood is, as well as the tone.

The mood: how does the poem make you feel? If it were an emotion, what would it be? Happy? Sad? Thoughful?

As for the tone: how does the narrator or author "say" the poem? Is he serious? Playful? What is the "voice"?

If you're really stuck, look up the history of both poems. I'll give you a hint: the mood isn't joyful and the tone isn't light.

Fire Caught. The mood is sad love. The tone is gentle darkness. Fire and Ice. The mood is uncontrollable doom. It sets a tone of relinquishing control that is almost liberating.
