The title says it all.

My friend and I are going to create a website but we need an idea for the website to be centered around. Like a web based tool or something you would use or be drawn to.

Thanks
Matt

The website can be either... static or dynamic.. We just need an idea to center the website around or a web based tool (e.g youtube vid downloader - no thats already been done numerous times :P)

There aren't enough good FREEWARE file coverters for DVD to iPod, mpeg to dvd, FLV to mpeg etc etc. Yeah, i have good one's but only because I paid for them. No matter who you are, universally everyone listens to music and there wouldn't be a shortage of people visiting your site. Also, with the amount of portable devices that you can use for music just screams for a decent opening in FREEWARE....With this being said, the same could be said for "burning" tools, and movie making tools for the p.c user who wishes to cut/edit etc on their p.c. On a last note, you could have a diverse site that caters to maybe 3 or 4 categories comprehensively.

Specify whether it is a static website or dynamic one depending on that you can use. Dreamware is the the tool to design best looking static webpages

If you currently are a web subscriber, your current provider offers a homepage into which you can FTP your current webpage(s) [which can be authored/designed using NotePad, MSN Word, FrontPage, DreamWeaver, etc.] and use the homepage hosting services. In a sense, you are hosting a commercial webpage via the homepage link and incurring merely the monthly access of, say, AOL.com, etc. Nevertheless, should you want to link your current domain name to the homepage URL, you'll need to use a third-party redirection service, i.e., mydomain.com [which is free] or simply direct your domain name registry, i.e., godaddy.com to forward your domain name [with masking] to the link it to your homepage URL. It's that simple.

Good luck!
