We should be solving the problems in America! I know that there is a problem with starving children all over the world! We need to solve the problems with starving and uneducated children here before we start helping other countries! Once there are no more starving families here then that gives us more people to help those in other countries! I get so mad when I see the commercials asking for just pennies a day to help starving children in another countries when I know that we have poverty issues here! Whats worse is that they are Americans asking for the money! I will donate money to a legitimate organizations that help here in the U.S.. After our problems are fixed then I will donate money to help elsewhere! I see all of those commercials with all of those foreign kids and I cant help but see the faces of all of the dirt poor uneducated children here in the states that that money could be helping! Helping even more because the goods that its supposed to buy doesn't have to be shipped to those far away places! U.S. postal service! Saving money right there! We as Americans need to focus on our own issues and solve our problems before we even start trying to solve the rest of the worlds problems! I don't care about any other country until we fix the problems here in this my country! I think it sucks that other country's have atrocities happening but we should not get involved until we fix our own problems! Everyone gripes about the U.S. being the world police, but they want us to help them when they are in a bind! I say stop helping and doing for everyone until we have helped ourselves!
It is said that if you give a man a fish he will eat for a day!
If you teach a man to fish he will eat for the rest of his life!
We need to be teachers not providers!!!!!!

Dont you think it has something to do with media coverage.
Its really not that people 'dont care', it has more to do with conditioning. Which is not necessary a negative thing.
For example in South Africa for years we have had help from just about every international org. Over the past 3yrs these organisations are pulling out and focusing their attention elsewhere.
The ramifications of this is that South Africa is being forced to become self sufficient and also resourcefull. So maybe its time for Tibet to stand up and change some of its ancient ways of doing things and look outside of itself and see what it can learn from the rest of the world!
As for Dafur. Its the first time in history that the world steps in to help Dafur . . . im so grateful for international intervention there!

Because the media changes direction. it isnt good to have people stoked up about a power like CHINA, governments get jittery and like a change of focus. We get played like this all the time. Pick on a country you have some chance of beating, which is also "politically correct" to attack, if not, make up some bull and hope you don't get found out, and persuade the media to look away from places which cause a real headache and don't mess with China, its too dangerous.
Watch Pakistan, I doubt anyone will chuck their weight around there either because of the NUKES. It is sad, but a fact of life I'm afraid

We should be thankful that people even care about anything now a days. Nobody has forgot about Tibet. Or the starving children, or sweat shops. Just because they've moved the focus, doesn't mean it's forgotten. ♥

"They" don't care Tibet or Darfur! "They" only care about money and oil.
Watch the movie "Sometimes in April" this will tell you why some people are talking about Darfur. Also watch the 2005-2006 (I think) season of ER. Darfur isn't a new issue.

Probably because China now owns 44% of the $9 trillion US national debt.
It would hardly be wise to bite the hand that feeds us.

There are starving people right here in America. Why don't people care about them? There are starving people all over the world ... we can't help every single one of them.
