beep codes are computer specific. However the things you want to check require you to open the computer case after unpluging the power cord and waiting 5 minutes are as follows"

1. Reseat your memory modules.
2. Reseat your CPU chip carefully!!!
3. Reseat all your expansion cards
4. unplug and replug all drives. Two cables for each drive. The power cable and the data cable.
5. used compressed air to blow out all the dust that has built up.

After going through these steps try the computer again. If it still does not work, then you may need to do a one at a time removal of hardware, and trying to see if the pc will boot.

More than likely your problem lies in the memory chips. If reseating them does not fix the problem then you could have some faulty RAM on your hands.

I think 8 times means video card; at least that is it on mine. But as said it is specific to what motherboard being used. When a computer experience difficulty prevent booting it uses beeps to signal for service, but you need some manual on what beeping represent what difficulty.

I had a similar problem but it only beeped 3 times.

I found that my RAM modules were not inserted correctly. So in your case, it may not be RAM, but it could well be something else that is not connected properly.
