A report just released has discovered how corrupt the Howard is/was during the 2004 election. They quickly passed projects in Liberal seats and rejected them in Labor seats to manipulate the swinging voters!
Some of these projects were only in the planning stage but rushed through just before the last election.
I only have some details on it but will update this question as I get more of the report!!!
The longer this government stays in power the more it makes me sick. This government has tried to become a dictatorship by blocking out the alternative government. Anyone that believes Iraq is good because it promotes democracy is being screwed by their own government. You cannot be pro-democracy and vote Liberal. This is not my opinion but the facts, and they are comming out for you to see.
The saddest part is that there will be people that believe this is ok, and justify it to make themselves feel ok about it. This is ususally because they are so in bed with one party!!

iskandar.....first i don't support our troop fighting Americas war for oil in Iraq. I absolutely did not vote for the Liberals in the last election.
My opinions relate to the Liberal government, as for the corruption report, watch the news and read the report and you will see for yourself that, as one political reporter said, its the biggest scandal he has seen ever!!!
Like your Liberal counterparts you use talk with no substance to your outdated point across!!

I've just seen the news about it too... I think it's going to cause a lot of the moderate Liberals to rethink their vote, and Kevin Rudd might possible win this election in a landslide never seen before (you never know).
P.S Why didn't the Australian people or the media report on these scandals during 2004? Shows how much power John Howard and his fellow cronies have gained... and I agree with you on every statement you made.

I have not seen it but considering who we are talking about is there some kind of news flash that he would do it. I hardly think so after all this is the man that had no knowledge of the wheat board affair and claimed refugees were throwing their children overboard when their boat was sinking told us there would never ever be a gst and didn't tell us nothing about workchoices as well as other assorted lies
Which brings me to his greatest deception ever not telling the rest of the country that a liberal premier had decimated a whole regions economy by allowing that premier to privatise a former government business and throwing 10000 people out of a job with a flow on of another 5000 going because businesses started to fail mean while his brothers business fails and guess what we find a way to give him some support BHP has to lose 2000 jobs and we can find a rescue package for Newcastle Ford loses some jobs and there is a rescue package for Geelong
So all in all I am not shocked by the lengths this man will go to get elected

It was very revealing as to what Howard & Co are all about while they have been in Power, would not surprise me if they tried to block it from being released, especialy after when ( Irene Moss ) saying about the way our freedom of speech was being targeted by this Government,
So I wonder how many other documents are there that will come to light before the election is over.
This Liberal Government & Co has been shown up for all decent Australians bar the few who are part of this Liberal Party & Co.
How can we as Australia trust such a Liberal Party again now or in the future as what has been shown .You cannot hide all things do come out sooner than later.
As Kevin Rudd has stated that all this big spending has to stop.
Go Kevin

I am not an Aussie but could I say that our democratic rights were hard fought for and our forefathers shed their blood for these ideals. And if we let politicians take these rights away from us - and that is exactly what many want to do - they are gone forever.
One thing we must never forget is that when politicians get voted into power they become an anathema to our democratic rights. This is because their aim then becomes one of perpetuating THEIR power and consequently diminishing OURS. Their aim become not to SERVE the people but to CONTROL the people.
Therefore, if we are to retain our democratic rights there must always be a positive and ongoing conflict between governors and governed. Government and its activities and the agencies of government must be forever under our relentless scrutiny. No government should be given an easy ride.
This is not easy when ownership of the media is concentrated in so few hands as it is now.

I haven't seen the report but I'm not in the least surprised. I recently took part in a phone poll which I believe was conducted by the Coalition and one of the questions I was asked was if there was anything the current government could do in my region to change my vote from Labor to the Coalition. I very kindly said no.

Newsflash: All governments are inherently evil. This is because of the nature of government positions. They are positions of power and are attractive to people that lust to control other people. Thats why government must be kept very limited and small. Its only purpose for existing is to protect the rights and property of the governed. Anything a government does beyond this is taking steps toward tyranny.

I think politicians are like batteries. They have a limited shelf life and have to be replaced before they wear out entirely. Because when batteries expire, they usually damage the equipment that they operate.
But like batteries, there is a cost to replace pollies.
Sometimes people think that they can save money by avoiding change.
But the cost of keeping them in power goes up and things only get worse. There is a time when they really have to go. Some just don't want the ride to end, and have to be sent on their way by the electorate.

Howard will win again if the people will not bite the exposure that corruption was committed by him since 2004.

why are there so many people saying bad things about the coalition? it is pretty close according to the polls.
anyway, I don't think Iraq was a good thing, but if we went in there at the beginning, threw Saddam out and started a new government, we should at least stay there to see it through. We went in there at the beginning. We don't do things half baked, we finish them.
These are not the facts, this is your opinion. You thought going to iraq was okay when you voted coalition last election didn't you?
