I guess I have thought about admiring certain qualities in the fiction character, thinking about how a real person with those same qualities might feel. But I never actually got that close to anyone in a book.
It is kind of like watching a movie - sometimes you might root or pull for a certain outcome, but I see it only as entertainment (or history, if it is the case) - nothing more.

Hum...honestly, I can't say I've actually fallen *in love* with a book character, but I can say that there are a few that have become friends. I particualrly enjoy reading 'series' books. Where there is a continuing character, or characters that you can get to know in reading different books.
I look forward to the next one, where I can peek into their lives and see whats been going on since last we met... in the last book.

Yeah, sure. I mean, I think LOVE is putting it a little strongly, but I've had crushes on fictional characters before. Mr. Darcy, Mr. Rochester, Howl from Howl's Moving Castle, and Dream from The Sandman. It's pretty normal. A lot of people I know have had crushes on fictional characters. It's no weirder then having a crush on a celebrity. In fact, I think it actually makes more sense to have a crush on a fictional character than a celebrity, since you know in depth the personality of your fictional crush, while most people have no idea what kind of people their celebrity crushes really are.

LOL- actually, yes. There are guys that I read about- even in fiction books- that I felt i had a strong connection with and knew that if they were real people, i would probably fall in love with.

You've apparently not been around any Jane Austen fans. Most of us are in love with Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice.
