Let x represent the oringal amount.
24 = x + 1/3x + (1/4(1/3x)) + (1/5(1/4(1/3x)))
24 = 43/30x
24 / (43/30) = x
x = 720/43 (16.7441)
So... Yea.. I might of done it wrong though. Since x is his oringal amount, and he takes 1/3 of it at the first place. Then takes 1/4 of THAT (1/4(1/3 x)) and so on...
