Mate don't think that only bad things can happen to you in manila. Your house can get hit by a meteor while your surfing the net, you could get hit by a bus and etc. You have just about equal chance wether your in the US or Manila. Just don't be afraid otherwise they have won. PS if your in a mall and a bomb goes off don't follow the flock, a smart bomber would have another guy waiting to blow himself up in the huge crowd rushing out.

If your white westerner then you should practice simple security measures and that will greatly reduce the risk.

1.Don't wear clothes that make you look like a person of wealth. Just casual clothes and no flashy jewellery
2.At night don't go to places that look suspicious. Stay in places where there are lots of people and is an easy place to get out of.
3.When out break your money up in afew places incase your bag gets snatched you atleast have some money to be able to get back where you need to go ie your hotel or whoever your staying with
4.If you get held up just give them the money but under no circumstances go with them.

Hope that helped and enjoy your stay there.

There are areas that you have to be cautious. Tondo Manila has markets that you will find good deals and really cheap prices (divisoria) BUT you have to be extra care. First do not wear jewelries, Second avoid using your phone in public areas, lastly dress like a local which means do not wear something that people will know that you are a tourist. Dont get me wrong that everyone is criminal, its just better to be safe.

No place is absolutely safe. Even the Pentagon was attacked as part of the series of suicide flights, including those that hit the Twin Towers.

Common sense will take you out of harm's way.

Gaya nga ng sabi ni Kuya Kim:
"Walang sakuna sa pamilyang laging handa."

hehe...I suggest that you don't go to very crowded places, and places that you think will be the next "targets".

NO ONE knows where will be the next attack. First was Glorietta, and now the Congress. It will be safe for you if you know what to do and if you're prepared for whatever what might happen.

Take care =)

Accident/incident can happen anywhere if it is meant to be. Everything that happens is part of God's plan. There is always a reason to everything. My suggestion is, always pray to God.

no place is really safe enough.

just have faith in God and pray hard! there's no stronger weapon than God's guidance.

have a safe trip!

-i think it will not happen to you...especially if the place that you will visit is a village or private places i'm sure that you will be safe...and those kidnappers i think they are in the place where many people go...(just trust god)
