for those less fortunate than you or do you just make fun of them?

Yes, I do have a soft spot for the less fortunate. I always have. However, my die-hard Republican brother does not and he chews me out if he sees me give a hand-out to the homeless.
He says I should give to recognized charities and let the charity help the poor. He says the poor are going to use the money I give them to buy alcohol. He says it's stupid to give hand-outs to people on the street.
I feel that being Christian means helping the less fortunate and just as I would not hesitate to give my tightwad brother a few dollars if he asked for them, I shouldn't hesitate to give a few dollars to the poor. Just as I wouldn't grill my actual brother about what he's going to do with the money or refuse him money if he was going to use it to buy liquor, I won't do that to the poor folks on the street.
Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you, I say.

Yes, I have a soft spot in my heart for the less fortunate, (I had been one of them, many years ago). "There but by the grace of God go I." Goodwill and Salvation Army are two great places to do volunteer work. God bless the ...less fortunate !!!

I always feel for those less fortunate for me and would never dream of making fun of them. I try to help people as much as I can. I only wish I had more to help with.

I would never make fun of somebody less fortunate than me, I have seen too many hard times myself to do that, I do what I can to help them out!!

Yes, my entire heart is a soft spot -- I give & give & give -- if they are truly in need & less fortunate than I. Heaven help them if they are scam artists or committing some other type of fraud (the one hard spot is the scar on my heart) which will necessitate me helping you meet your Maker for final judgement! (jk) ~(;-)

I worked hard to get to where I am in life and I can get pretty ticked off when people can bludge off the system and do better than me and blow it.
There are numerous charities that deserve a $ or two for those less fortunate, that I happily support.
