hi, im a full time nanny, my current charges are 15mnths & 6yrs & ive been with them for just over a year, iv got 5yrs nannying experience which i got after doing a full time diploma in childcare at college after i finished at school. i think in your position if childcares the route you want to folow, finish school, get a childcare qualification & then get a nanny job, once your qualified you'l have lots more confidence, more knowledge & be able to charge a proper wage, also you need to be police checked & as far as i know you need to be at least 16 for this, you'l need nanny insurance, your employer will need to add you to their home insurance policy too & when you drive you'l need business insurance on your car! lots to take in & think about! also a first aid course is essential. hopefully you'l never need to use it but better safe than sorry! hope this helps?!

You are old enough to have a card, apply for it through the local employment agency they will assist you with forms etc. If you are still at school the careers adviser should be able to help.
