Your favorite film doesn't have to have your favorite actors in it. For example; Gone with the Wind. You couldn't cast Clark Gable in it anymore.

hmm... if my favorite film were to have different actors it wouldn't be the same film therefore may not be my favorite anymore... so I wouldn't change a thing in my favorite film
I suggest asking what film do you think you could make better with different actors, and who would you put in what roles to make it better?

2001: a space odyssey is my all time favorite movie.
I would like Michael Moore play the role of Frank, the astronaut that is thrown out into space, waving his arms furiously, without life support.
I would cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Dave, the sole surviving astronaut, who ages every time he turns around, until he dies and is reborn.
For the HAL9000 computer, I would use the voice of Eddie Murphy. He's in a lot of animated movies and would play the role well with some well timed. sarcastic humor.
For the inert Black Monolith, which in my opinion symbolizes knowledge, I would replace it with a wheel.
