I have a dell pc that plays region 2 dvds but no longer allows me to play region 1 dvds.
i used to be able to switch the setting to allow my pc to play region 1 dvds, but now i can no longer do this.
is there any sort of software that i can buy that will allow my pc to play american dvds? please can someone help me because i really dont want to go out and buy an expensive multi region dvd player

You can only change the region setting 5 times. That's hard-coded into the drive's firmware and can't be unlocked. You'll have to replace the DVD drive. Now would be a good time to invest in a region-free drive.

your DVD drive has regional settings that you can ONLY change 4 times (final)
go look for it under properties in device manager
