This could be an entire range, but it also depends on the game you are wanting to play and a more specific price range.
Basically, you can get away with pretty cheap if you leave some of the video settings in the respective games at a lower amount.
But, you can probably get away with about 1.5GHZ dual core or about 2.8-3.0GHZ single, but I recommend the dual. You want to spend the real money on a video card, get at least a 256MB and if you can stretch it, a 512 DDR2 or DDR3. At least 1GIG of ram, but 2GIG would be preferred. Also, get at least a 150-300GB hard drive as many games take up a lot of hard drive space.
Really, whatever you can afford will get you a better computer, but be sure to spend the real money on more ram and a better video card. The more you spend, the higher the setting you can set on the games and the better it will perform and look.
I'm running AMD Dual 4600+ 2.4 GHZ with 2GB of RAM, 500GB Hard drive, 512MB DDR2 vid card. I run games with settings on high and performance is great, although I would go with intel if I were to buy another process, duo core is great.

pictures, search for Nvidia or AMD. If it says Nvidia or AMD, search for the 2d volume. That shows the placement interior the chipset era. something lower than 5 is get entry to-factor, 6 is above difficulty-free, 7 is performance and eight+ is excellent. the first volume is the era, at present it really is 6 for Nvidia and seven for AMD, yet that would not count number number a lot. The third volume is a relative benchmark, and not worth aggravating about. If it would not say both, it really is undesirable. If it says something like Ti, or OC, or notwithstanding, that would want to recommend something or it may recommend no longer something. CPU is extra variable, you ought to look at that your self.

If budget is tight, you could opt for the cheaper ATI HD2600XT graphics card.
