It seems as if I am the only person without a "best friend". I have friends of course but they all already have a best friend. I have seen people who are in their 30s with friends they have had since they were 8-9 years old and that seems like such a good thing. In this crazy world, long term best friends provide an "anchor" that we often don't have anymore. So here are my questions--
1. Do you have no best friend?
2. Does it bother you?
I think it may have something to do with being female. I have seen guys maintain friendships from childhood to middle age but that seems less likely to occur with women (at least the people I know). Anyone know why?

i dont have one either, and ya know what? im ok with it. military brats dont usually have childhood friends. cause we always moved every 3 years.
(i mean a best friend that is a guy also) of course my female best friend is my wife, shes the best. oh and my kids too.
theres room for one more if you want to be our best friend too?

I don't have a best friend, Technically I only have one friend but she has a boyfriend and mainly sees him and she studys and also works, so I am pretty much a lone wolf.
It somewhat bothers me, but I try not to let it get to me. I can entertain myself pretty well.
I did have more friends but all they are interested in is drinking bottles of tequila and wine all the time.

I feel so bad for you ; really I do; I have two best friend's since we were in grade school, and have been in touch even though we are far from oneanother , but we do find time to get together and catch up; friend's are so important in life, please try to make at least one best friend before you'r all grown , life change's after that.

I am a girl and I don't have a 'best friend', a bunch of good/really good acquaintances, but no true 'best friend'. I am quite okay with that...but that might have to do with the fact that most best friend candidates are girls and I tend to enjoy boys' company a bit more seeing how they tend to be less vicious than girls.

i feel sorry for you in a way but on the other hand best friends are like normal friends i mean you dont HAVE to have a best friend because in the end your friends are you best friends.

basically im sayin just be happy you have friends and dont stress that you dont have a "best friend" i mean its not that big a deal.

girl i'm with you i don't have a best friend i have friends i hang out with and talk to, i'm kinda a tomboy the guys cling to me for anwsers, questions but sometimes it would be nice to have a good girlfriend to talk to about everything but i wonder if sometimes i'm weird but then again if i was guys when like me so who knows.

it's ok if u don't have a bestfriend...ur mom and ur dad can be ur friend!its not bother me..besides,I am happy with my own way!I don't have any bestfriend!I want u to know that nobody's perfect in this world...they are to many people outside with different character that we don't know...
