I'll star a question and not answer it if someone has answered they same way I would, or if I think the question is interesting or funny but I don't have an answer,

Sometimes if I really want to know the answer or the question asks something out of the ordinary, I'll star it even though I didn't answer it.

D). All the above
Typically, I'll star a question but not answer it if it's a good question and 40 other people have given great answers and there's nothing I can add.
It's a compliment.

A question can pique your interest, but you may not have a very good answer for it. Starring it allows other people to see it on your profile so that they might check it out and answer it or comtemplate it.

I agree. I acknowledge it when I think the question is interesting, even if I don't have an answer for it.

because they are wondering the same thing, which is why they can't answer it, but want to come back to it. This is what stars were intended for.
