So there is BET (black entertainment television), black history month, Miss Black America. so on.
[We do have hispanic heritage month too]

Tell me your opinion on this, do you think that is racist (for lack of a better word)?
Do you think people would be offended if we had a WET or AET? Or what if we had White Guy Acknowledgment week, Asian appreciation month, etc. What if we had a miss white america?

If all races are equal, why do we STILL acknowledge it someone is black and they make big history. Trust me I AM NOT RACIST, actually I am complete opposite. I just trhink its a little silly thats all. Does anyone agree or disagree?

Please don't be rude. I am curious as to what you think about this.

Being from Australia I do find it bizarre that there are special days for different races. I do believe that in America they should still acknowledge Black history because for so many years all anyone knew about African/Americans was their slave past and its so important to know that without them we would be living in a world without certain inventions and medicines.eg: Lewis Latimer invented an important part in the light bulb... George Washington Carver invented Peanut butter ( I am particularly happy about that... thanks Mr Carver).. Garret Morgan invented the gas mask. and where would we be without Lonnie G Johnson's invention??? The supersoaker.. hahaha....best summers where spent soaking the neighbourhood.
As for Miss Black America I don't agree... Everyone born in America is American.
That is the way we see it in Australia..... if you are born here you are Aussie. My son's dad is Somali and I was born in Yugoslavia and I have taught him to say he is Aussie with a culturally mixed background.

another dumb question
98% of American TV is white
nearly all the model contest have white contestants almost 99%
most award shows are mostly white
74% of America is white which means out of 300 million
274 million people are white
what more do u need
if a small minority like the black community or the hispanic community wants to appreciate itself then what is your problem

Yes, it isnt fair. If white people even TRIED to create anything directed only to caucasions we would be labled discreminating racists and a HUGE deal would be made.
And for people who say the majority of tv is for white people, no its not. Maybe it seems like way because the MAJORITY of this country is white; what do you expect to see on tv? Its not "directed" toward anyone.
In short, blacks can do nothing considered racist, but the moment they vaguely smell something directed towards white people they scream racism...

there is white entertainment television. it's called majority of american televisions and movies. the reason why there's a bet and other minority programmings is because majority of the entertainment is based on and meant for the white majority audience.
