What! no one mentioned the Kendalls? Jeannie and Royce. They had some excellent songs out in the early 80's.."Thank God for the radio"..."I'll dance every dance with you"..."My babys gone" and several others.

Loretta and Conway, of course, are number one. After The Fire Is Gone is such a great song for a lazy afternoon. And then there's Feelin's, Lousiana Woman, Mississippi Man, and the masterpiece, Lead Me On, and take control of how I feel... now THAT's country music, my friend. Whoo! Makes me thankful I can hear. And True Love was always a fun song to listen to.

A close second would be Jim Ed and Helen. Morning Comes Too Early has been at the top of my list for as long as I can remember, and then there's If The World Ran Out Of Love. They also had an album cut called Loving You, Loving Me, Loving You that I played on the radio all the time during my teen years just because they gave us a free song once an hour. Not too many B sides in history have been as chartable as that one.

Well, I'm not a big country fan, but sweet Dolly can write a song that really tells a story like The Coat of Many Colors and who isn't moved when she does the recitation in I Will Always Love You? Oh, and although it's just an introduction, I will always like to hear Conway, saying, "Hello, darling. Nice to see you." Nice question.

I know it's been said, but Loretta and Conway's Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man is my all time favorite. I love, love, love the both of them. By the way, what did you think of Loretta's album Van Lear Rose? Just curious.
