If the abs light is also on, you likely have a bad wheel speed sensor. Traction control works with the abs system, not the trans.

No way!! The traction light is just a function of the ABS module. When you disable the TCS, it only allows you to spin the wheels at your pleasure.

trac-off = traction control turned off. this has to do with tires, slippage, etc. nothing to do with the transmission.

sure its trac? never heard of a cavalier having traction control. check your owners manual.

no it wont hurt the car its the traction control for the wheels if the light is on it will allow u to spin the tires freely and if it is off wen u spin the tires it will apply the brakes automaticly to stop the wheels from spinning.

no that jus means that you don't have any traction, that happened to mine when i put the doughnut on, you jus have to hit the brakes and gently accelerate
