with any baby you need to start with single grain cereals first, then move one to pureed veggies and then pureed fruits. If you have already given these then he should be able to try mixed foods, such as mixed veggies or two or three fruits mixed together. Just make sure you give each new food one at a time and wait a few days before giving another new food so you can watch for allergies.

I have a 7 1/2 month old and this is what I no so far...
avocado pureed then mashed if you are breast feeding then mix it with that or formula.(I breast feed and i mix it with formula to fill him up)
banana but it can constipate baby's i found Infants friend to be a god send with that problem
potatoe
pumpkin
sweet potatoe
spinach is great for constipation goes right through them so is pear
any vege
apple
Any fruit except for citrus it is to high in acid and no seeds or pips
tuna in springwater only
any meat cooked well not to much olive oil
frozen veges are great to
also you can cook any of these in a microwave fill with water till it covers food, wet paper towel and cover it. This keeps all its nutrients.
If you live in Australia ALDI has baby food called BABY'S OWN and is made by Heinz and is half the price.
Buy a hand or stick blender its easy to use and is easy to clean. And give thembooiled water in a sipper cup $2.50 from coles

he is still little and his main food should either be breast milk or a good infant formula - the formula are really good because they ensure he is getting all the nutrients he needs as he is learning to eat.
to start with he should have a baby rice cereal (Heinz make a good one) mixed with a little of the breast or formula milk. as he starts to like that you can add pureed apple.
he will soon start to like the apple, simple egg free custards, pureed vegetables like peas, pumpkin - avoid egg, honey and fish until he is at least 12 months old.
if you don't want to prepare foods yourself - you can buy jars of prepared baby foods - they labels show you the appropriate ages for your little one

first you need to say if the baby has teeth and how many.
next all food that babies get in stage 2 are good but if you want to try other foods. homemade mashed potatoes-not boxed, applesauce-unsweetend, watermelon-very small pieces so as not to choke, chicken-again cut real, real small.
i mean if your kid has no teeth i would stick to the jar stuff but if he has teeth then do what you feel comfortable giving him. just remember no spices-salt, pepper, etc.-and always small pieces.
