How does your dog react other times when you're not around, or behind closed doors? Your dog may have separation issues. Either in general or with you. Experiment a little bit. close the bedroom door without letting your dog in and see how he reacts. If he doesn't care, he just likes being in the washroom with you. If he freaks out, separation issues.
Something else just came to thought. Maybe because you're just sitting there with nothing to do for a couple minutes, he knows if he's there, he'll get all of your attention while the two of you are in there. I know that's why my cat always insists on coming in with me.

I have no idea. Could I speak to your dog? Maybe he'll tell me. Oh wait... I get it. You were fishing for compliments! Ha!
