i think because of the rise of cellphones... the amount of marriages that ended up in divorce has rised greatly,,, because now that everyone knows where the other is it is very hard for the person that wants to lie to do so, that way, trust is very hard to give because people cant lie as easy anymore. does that make sence to peoplles?

Your causality is not reasonable. You could also say that the divorce rate has risen just as the number of pirates have declined. Therefore a lack of pirates is the cause of divorce!

Hurry! We need more pirates!

No - the cause would be the lying, not the cell phones. I think the rate has risen because people don't take their committment seriously and its all too easy to end it with a divorce. Some people marry and divorce multiple times, so the numbers get higher and higher - whereas if they were committed to their first marriage, they wouldn't have had opportunities to re-marry and divorce again.

i do not believe cell phones are as ya say to keep tabs.many people say i am here and be somewhere else.divorce rates today are caused by alto of things yet a cell phone is probably on the list but at the very bottom.cell phones are not a tracking device it's a talk in device so lien about where you are at is easy.

No, the cell phones only allow for more lies to be more easily told and to be more easily found out. It is not the phones themselves that causes the rise in divorce, it is those using the cell phones.

Internet , porn , cell phone's COME OFF IT!!!!!!

If a marriage is failing and the "lyer" is pissed he cant lie then he shouldnt damn well get married .

People really need to look deeper into the issues that cause divorce and quit blaming technology ffs grow up.

No, because if the person that's cheating doesn't want their mate to know where they are they could either answer the phone and tell them a lie, or they could opt not to answer the phone. I'm not sure if what I just said even makes sense, but what you said doesn't make sense to me.

Sorry!

I don't know what to make of cause and effect, but it seems to me that it is the exact opposite in terms of knowing where the other party is.

On a cellphone, I might tell you I am at the office, but I could be anywhere!

I don't think there is a correlation between those two. However, you should hear my theories on women in the workforce! (That's what I blame for an immoral society, an obese society, and an increase in divorce).

I agree -- technology has made 'cheating' more convenient ... However, it doesn't make cheating right. Communication has risen in the past decade. Many spouses catch someone cheating on the computer... that was unheard of 20yrs ago!!!
