My thinking is that dogs avoid, or run away, from the exact people you would avoid - that is if you are a normal human being.

it depends on the dog && how they interpret a type of person to be. based on their first instinct...they'll either run away from or sniff a person. it also depends on how a person approaches a dog whether it will run away or not

my wife believes that her dogs can sense things about another person that we can't. we had a contractor over to take a bid on doing our addition and he was 10 grand under the highest bidder. our poodle [ that has never been aggressive to anyone before]
begun to growl at him and ran under the table and bark under her breath. my wife said ok I'll call you. the one that got the job was he that the dog jumped in his lap and laid there.
so now we have 10k more tied up in the dog....lol
but the addition came out great and after 5yrs still looks great.
who knows maybe my wife and the poodle is right.
