Wow!! Welcome to the World as we know it!! I would have agreed with you all the way earlier in my life. But as time goes on I have learned sometimes the hard way, that not everyone is as nice as myself. My parents taught me to be kind and courteous to others, you know "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Well that's nice for a while but as you "get to know" more and more people you will find out that not everyone is on the same page as yourself, unfortunately. I have a system, that I will share with you.First I tell myself, not to react,to anyone or anything, that may offend me. I "look before I leap".Then I make a decision as to whether or not it would be worth my time to try and rectify the situation or just simply ignore it. Most of the time I choose to ignore. It is not worth your time or mine to try and teach or change anyone. The only person you can change is you!!! The only person I can change is me!! So take a deep breath and say to yourself,I am better than those who are mean,I will not let their stupidity ruin my day or my life.Peace and Stay Nice!!!

I used to have a real nasty temper towards people who were mean, especially bullys who picked on people. But thru anger management I learned that you really just have to let it go. Everyone is diffrent, and you cant change them and I couldnt go on losing my temper just because I didnt like how some one was acting. Just let it go. Thats all you can do, as well as being assertive to the disruptive person with out being violent tends to help.

My definition of "mean people" are those who discriminate against others, neo nazis, kkk members, and people who just don't respect people that are different then them. The way that I deal with it is by fighting against it and trying to make some changes in my state.

you have to realize that it is their inner pain that makes them act that way. try to understand them and how their life is for them, what drives them to act that way. befriend them. try to empathize with them. really. they are in desperate need of love. try marshall rosenberg's nonviolent communication. almost no one can be mean to you if you know how to use these techniques. meanness is a tragic misplaced expression of unmet needs.
