I'm doing an essay for the Boston Tea Party and I can't find anything on the East India Company.

I need to know who founded it and when it was founded. Thanks!

Jan Pieterszoon Coen started the Dutch East India Company in 1602.

French east India company(Compagnie des Indes Orientales) was started by Colbert in 1664. Dutch united east India company(Veereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie) was started on 1602. British east India company(John company) was started on 31 December 1600 by a charter granted by Queen Elizabeth under the title ' The governor & company of merchants of London trading into East Indies. ' .
