If someone in my family has a child with someone of a different race does that make me half that race? I.E. My brother had a child with a white female so I'm half white now right?

This is a real question, a girl a I with believes she is half black because her cousin has children with a black man.

I am very concerned about the question you asked because it sounds like to me, I may be wrong, that you are wishing it is so to get away from your true origin. I hope this is not the case because whatever what origin, everyone is beautiful. The only way a child's race is determined is directly through their parents or their parent's bloodline and not through someone else's bloodline.

No unless you are your brothers child no, if someone in your family has a child woth someone of a different race it doesnt make you that race nor does it make that person in your family that race you are what are dont be ashamed!!!!

what? race is a social construct, however in normal social parlance you are not now half white, you brother's child is either half white or all white ?(you imply that you and your brother don't consider yourselves white but you don't say how you do view yourselves racially).

No, it's only if it's one of your parents, grandparents, great grandparents etc. Someone directly from your line of parents.
