haha totally true =)
well, i wear a mixture of both.
i'm asian, and in japan and korea, they have different styles and fashion trends, and personally, i think they look much more cuter than the ones here in america. (just my opinion) so, i wear things that no one really wears at my school, for example leg warmers. pretty soon, a lot of girls start wearing the same thing! that's how a trent begins. and i don't worry about what is in style that much, but what actually looks PRETTY and NICE. after i wear it..it becomes a trend. i make my own trends. if i stick to hollister and abercrombie, people could NEVER tell me apart from the crowd and will never compliment me on my style and fashion sense, since wearing abercrombie and hollister don't really show "fashion". fashion is what you can create with a bunch of clearance items from the flea market into an incredible outfit. so, i try to stay apart from the crowd. i want to stand out and make people realize "oh my gosh that girl didn't buy any of that from abercrombie and none of it is name branded but i LOVEE that outfit!" and that's exactly what people say to me. long time ago i used to wear abercrombie ONLY because i didn't have much fashion sense. but now, abercrombie and hollister is basically out of the picture. <3 follow your heart. you get rewarded for doing so! :D

I feel the same way. Some people at my school go to the mall every week to buy clothes that have brand names and are over-priced. And they fail so much in their studies. Anyway, I think that the clothes that we wear don't have to be designer or popular. It's just if we feel comfortable or good in it. I wear clothes from stores that people usually don't know the name to and they still think it looks nice. So really think that people are just wearing some clothes to fit into a certain crowd without thinking why they are wearing it.

i disagree with you, because i enjoy fashion and what's in vogue, i understand that not everybody enjoys it, but i think u should look nice, and have ur own style at the same time. I'm not rich, so i can't have all the "in" things, so i take bits and pieces of the "in" things, and add my own style, flare, personallity, etc... to it!! If i don't like something that's supposedly "in" then i simply don't buy it. I try to get things that flatter and accetuate me in all the right places, and if something that's "in" doesn't do that for me, then again i simply don't buy it. So it all adds up to, i do it for fun!!

I agree. A lot of people want to fit in, and are insecure. I like to be different, and wear whatever I want, regardless of what other people think.

I know, I can't understand it either. It's like when stars do something they all copy each other and their fans copy them, so ridiculous.
