I mapped out my life down to the smallest detail. I planned to major in education, marry at 21 and have two kids (a boy & girl). I'm so stubborn that it took me years to realize that I'm not driving this car, no matter how well I outlined the map.

I used to be like you. I wanted this and that. Then I got a serious illness and now I live life to its fullest one day at a time.

well at least you wized up now. but you are in control of your life every day, the direction of every step you take. the thing is that your goals and dreams and priorities change as you mature. which you didn't realize they would when you made that plan. it's normal. keep planning and stay flexible.
but you are driving a different car than you thought. you do decide what to order at the restaurant. you do decide what job to apply for, what person to ask on a date, what classes to take, what hobbies to pursue. you are driving the car in every moment.
