This is a dilution problem
The moles of solute are going to remain the same so:
Molarity=moles of solute/liters of solution
sloving for moles you get : moles of solute= (molarity)(volume)
since the moles are the same before and after dilution,
(mL)(Molarity)before dilution = (mL)(molarity)after dilution
(6M)(mL) = (50mL)(1M)
now just solve for mL.

If you know how to you need to convert both solutions into moles in order to solve.
...I think :)
