It absolutely does not taste the same, but it's closer to regular than any of the other diet drinks I've tried. My wife actually likes Diet Dr. Pepper better than regular. For me, there's still that unpleasant aftertaste.

I am a TRUE Pepper and I believe they taste the same. Because of this, when I started being smarter about what I eat, I started drinking the diet dr. pepper.
