Should we really focus about future? Shouldn't we leave tomorrow to take care of itself?

Aha! yes! If we take care of today tomorrow will take care of it self. I think in this now era of rapid rush, and from all forms of media daily, we are overwhelmed with, "prevention" of most everything, and most of it is a sales pitch. Certainly we
should have certain plans, but not plan the out come, we seem to be sold a worry plan daily, which burdens us with more stress, to try to ruin each day with worry, producing a lot of control freaks I "fear" and control is an illusion. Neat Q *

Two concepts are being mixed up - the activity of planning for the future, which can be set up to occur automatically and without much further consideration, and the excessive, exaggerated , anxious mind of worry which keeps generating one possibility after another & revisiting it all over & over again.

To imply that we cannot have one without the other, therefore not to (for instance) act to plan for retirement, because we might worry about it, is just gibberish.

To act without concern for the result once the action is completed (the retirement plan is set up and will be funded every paycheck - check in once a year or so & otherwise leave it be) is the functional answer.

Worry is a harmful mental habit that can be unlearned, in part, be focusing on the present, but it doesn't require acting as though the future will never become the present - indeed, it does every day of our lives. It's just realizing that the future that becomes the present rarely resembles the imagined future at all.

Peace,

;-)

Sure. I think the future is eternal. It is not something that you make. Here is the present, and future and past. Future is something that you focus on, and then it cares for itself. So worrying about it hampers your efforts. You naturally spend your time and money in the future but the future audaciously has other suprises that you don't think about or plan for.

The present is the future, but; we have depth perception and velocity issues to contemplate as obstacles in the distant present speed towards us while lesser obstacles fall at our wayside. The future does not take care of itself. It just becomes the past in time and what we do lot learn from the past we are doomed to repeat.

What we do today, affects our tomorrow.... so if we are doing the right thing today, that is all that matters.
