to talk to players throughout thw world i would recoment nintendo wifi. it can be purchased at, best buy it is about 30 bucks but totally worth it, it works on picto chat, and all nintendo games that require wifi for connection. very easy to use you just hook up to your computer and start playing your ds!

you have to use the picto chat but you can only go like 30 feet away from the person maybe even less than that but it is cool if the house next to you is your friend and you 2 can set a time and talk together!!!

your ds's have to be close to each other.( its like a few hundred feet) when your turn your ds on, go to the corner that says "pictochat" and tell your "friend" to join the same chatroom as you and you can chat with eachother

go to the menu screen when you first turn on your ds and go to picto chat, choose a room to go in and if you want to know when someone else is in the room it will say that you entered the room you entered and it will say someone else's name that entered. then draw on the bottom screen or press the letteres on the bottom screen.
