I've heard of many sleeping medications and Iv'e also heard that some work and some don't and that some are just ok. Does anybody know of a sleeping tablet which is good and does work and also which would make you sleepy/drowsy and make you literally want to go to bed even when you were wide awake before you took the medication. Iv'e heard of tranquilizers, are they the same type they give to animals to sleep (obviously not the strong instant knock out immediatley sleep that animals get from them for humans)through an injection form but in tablets to make you sleep or similar?,Do they work? Can you get non-addictive tranquilizers?Iv'e got kalms, what are they like?,Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You.

Please see a Dr. Sleep issues are very serious and should be dealt with in a serious manner. If you find it to be more and more easier to stay awake days on end you should be checked of bipolar disorder. Especially if these periods of not sleeping are accompanied with racing thoughts and feeling like every thing and every one else is to slow. Medications like Ambien are dangerous, and you can go to your local herb shop for some pointers. in the right direction. Get to the cause of the sleep issue. Please read about the symptoms of bipolar disorders. Alternative meds that help you sleep are passion flower ,valerian, See a professional first before you do any thing. Each medincine reacts differently on each person. Try some cammoile tea until you get to the DR.

My pill popping ex gets prefers Ambien (stronger the better) and is now almost addicted. She would take valuum. but that would give her a hangover. Of the the sleep aids, she preferred Ambien for a good nights rest and the ability to wake up without being drowsy. It would know her out very quickly as well. hope that helps.

Get some melatonin, they're not habit forming and your body naturally produces this hormone to make you sleepy and maybe your not producing enough of it. It's a natural way to get some sleep. It doesn't knock you out either like some other medications do.

You should really have a thorough dr's evaluation if you're not sleeping well on a regular basis, but for occasional sleeplessness, I find that kava kava works really well. The tincture works faster...a little in some water and you're asleep in about 1/2 an hour.

I've heard that Ambien works really well and doesn't have too many side effects. OTC pills leave you pretty drowsy in the morning. But it's better than getting no sleep

Melatonin might work, calms forte can work too (non habit forming and in lesser amounts 1-2 tablets can just be calming).
