I have never watched this stuff but all my friends like them.

Definitely adult humor. A funny show which is easier to portray in cartoon form than having to hire and work w/ moody actors.

those cartoons were created for adults! that is why the humor is so politically/socially charged. childrens would not get each and each and every of the stuff in there. absolutely, the first cartoons were created for adults as stress relievers. at the same time as early comic strip characters might want to be bonked on the top and beat up in a variety of of ideas, it changed into meant to be a way for the guy viewing target market to vicariously experience a stress relief...kindof like screaming right into a pillow or breaking something.

I think people like to watch things where they can just switch off. Cartoons purvey messages just as any other show does and can be as entertaining as any other. I would say I prefer some of the animated shows to a lot of the shows that are out at the moment. Much better than the spirit crushing numbness of watching Big Brother!

I'm 21 and married. My husband is 22. We watch family guy all of the time. I think it's humorous but can be quite rude. Although we have an almost 9month old baby now so we're enjoying our adult shows while we can because this little guy isn't going to be able to watch it when he starts to pick up on stuff.

Cartoons like Family Guy are FOR adults! Heaven forbid anyone lets small kids watch them unsupervised.

Family Guy is a cartoon which is written, and designed with adults viewers in mind. It features content, and jokes which adults can understand. You should try to watch it, you might like it.
Do not be ashamed because it uses animation as its medium. Not all animation is meant for children.

i can't speak for family guy, since i've never watched it, but originally, cartoons were made for adults. (think looney toons, bugs bunny and the gang) they were made so adults could come home from a stressful day at work and relax. it's only been in the last 20 years that they started gearing cartoons toward kids, and in the last few that they've turned them into "adult" context.

Absolutlely! Why not?I am an adult and I love it...it's very well written,very funny,and a bit surreal.
You may find that you don't enjoy it,but then I don't really enjoy soaps.
Cartoon is a broad description though...I wouldn't watch cartoons for kids,but Family Guy has more adult themes.
I say give it a go...many of my adult friends love it and rightly so!

It's hilarious for one reason. It's also very satirical, it makes fun of life, actors, important figures, etc. And that's what makes it so fresh and unique;people like that. Although there are those that have no sense of humor and think the show is just horrible because of the fact that it makes fun of religion and sexuality. But that in turn attracts its main audience.

Yes, you should definately watch family guy and other shows like it. It is amazingly hilarius, but also has life's lessons in it(even if their hard to find) It makes a smile on your face just talking about it. Another great show you should watch is Robot Chicken on 296 (direct tv) It is always on after 9:00 cuz' before then that channel is cartoon network.
